Sterling EQ mesmerizes MAD

 

The South African instrumental pop music group kept the audience at the edges of their seats with their super-fly performances as they  brilliantly played their instruments. The audience could not resist dancing to the beats as the young women proudly did their thing.

Glittering in their shiny mini dresses the SAMA Award-winning group made up of pop flautist Carina Bruwer, electric cellist Ariella Caira, electric violinist Eriel Huang and Renate Riedemann left the audience happy as the MAD 2012 winners were announced. Amongst the top 18 finalists only 15 contestants were able to attend the big day as some of the contestants were sitting for their exams that day. The crew consisting of individuals and groups gave beautiful performances as the audience cheered. Amongst them were Wame Molema, Kemonye Malatelele and the young Thapelo Ngochwa.

Even though all the contestants displayed beautiful performances there always has  to be one winner. Magic Twinz walked away with the award for recognition of commitment in rehearsals and helping others while Molema took junior award. Her runner up Malatelele also went home smiling.

Mega Stars in the teens category earned themselves Viewer's Choice award together with their runner up Lame Bogatsu who sang beautifully as the crowd approved her stage performance. In the senior category, Funny People scooped the Viewers awards. Their runner up Chiz Nacks also displayed an unforgettable performance with their fabulous performance.

The colour block group gained popularity and recognition thanks to  their coulorful attire and energy. Luckymore also known as Tshepang Kwapa  won the judges hearts as they gave him Judges Choice Award. The winners went home with beautiful I pods and awards.

Baobab primary school, the MAD School Challenge Winners treated the audience to beautiful performances as they sang Botswana lefatshe la rona and ga ke battle go nyalwa kwa ga ngwaketsi. The Battle of the Finalists 2011 treated the audience with fantastic performances. They treated the audience with one of their beautiful dance play kgosi kgolo that was purely fascinating.

The show was broadcast live on Botswana Television (BTV) who together with Mascom wireless, Maitisong festival and other organisations made the day a success.
