Miss Botswana controversy

It has been reported that the reigning local queen is left in the cold to fend for herself financially in order to reach the upcoming competition. The model went on to appeal to those who care to listen for assistance. It is becoming a trend for the organizers of the local pageant to be late in whatever they must do, one wonders if there is any monitoring mechanism put in place. Over the years we have come to accept their explanation over lack of finance.
This year we have observed some cooporate partners come on board in what I thought was going to be a successful showpiece of all time in the history of the pageant but that was very short lived. Couple of weeks ago the up-market Phakalane suburb the BCW was at it again. They pushed an innocent soul on to the stage whereas she was the not the one who the judges had called for. As always they pretended it was not a big deal and cared very little to explain their erroneous behavior for the night. On many occasions, allegations of bias and discrimination, have been voiced out by the aspiring models.
As if it was not enough, just recently at Gaborone Sun a contestant's dress went missing under very mysterious circumstances. As expected BCW, instead of giving us an insight they locked themselves into an office. Shame on you people! The so-called professionals have failed even the most primary of their role. Do we have the right caliber of people to organize a show of this magnitude? The answer is NO!
Perhaps it time to review whether the BCW should continue to be the custodian of the Miss Botswana pageant license. Their performance so far has been disgusting and disappointing.
