Central police station commander, Superintendent Mokuedi Mphathi confirmed that the deceased man was employed as a groundsman at the establishment.
Some worshippers found the dead man last Saturday around nine in the morning. The station commander said they learned that the Hindus had held a religious celebration at the institution on Friday night.
'The Hindus were holding celebrations within the premises and they told the police that they left the temple around 12 midnight and in the morning they found him dead,' he said.
Mphathi said that the deceased is a legal Zimbabwean (immigrant) who took care of the premises. He said that even though at this point they do not know how he was killed, he had injuries.
'He had injuries on his shoulder and other parts of the body and we still do not know why he was killed as we have not yet established if anything was stolen from him,' he stated.
