My Star Top 5 revealed, as Boikanyo exits

On Friday the show kicked off on a high note with a local dance group G-wawa warming up the audience who were getting a bit anxious after  a delay. The group seemed to have revived the spirits of the audience.  The cherry on top was one of the best rappers around,  A.T.I. The self-proclaimed Lekhete. He  left the audience begging for more with his stage antics. The My Star performances kick-started with duets performances by Sharon and Motswafere delivering six time Grammy award winner Adele' Rolling in the deep. The pair who has received great raves from the judges week in and out continued where they left off, giving the audience something to cheer.

Tebogo and Boikanyo showed they were the audience's favourites as they had to wait on stage for the screaming to stop before they could belt out the 'My Girl' by the Temptations. With Tebogo's strong voice and Boikanyo's stage command they proved they can win the competition.Last was Ayanda and Amogelang singing Jordan Sparks' tattoo. Ayanda sounded much better with Amogelang than before though she was still receiving disapproval from the audience.

The moment of truth came later when all the six remaining contestants were back on stage for the eviction.Ayanda, Motswafere and Amogelang were called forward and when all believed Ayanda was leaving the show, the presenter announced the trio was safe leaving Sharon, Boikanyo and Tebogo on bottom three much to the disappointment of the fans.

The audience could not hide their disappointment with the voting, some even calling the judges to save the trio after battling it out to save their skin. With the judges faced with tough decisions, only the audience could do was hope for the judges to save their favourites contestants. Master D saved Boikanyo and Sharon, while Kgomotso saved Sharon and Tebogo. Sid was left with the decider and saved Tebogo after saying the trio was his top three.

He went on to say that voting people who are not great singers kill the credibility of the show as they are looking for a star. After Boikanyo left the show, Amogelang was first on stage singing Love the way you are,  by Rihanna and the task song. Kgomotso told Amogelang to come out strong as she sounded squeaky, while Sid said she was a good singer and performer, but she is not ready to be a star as she needs more time to develop the voice, and Master D blamed the audience for not voting, yet cry when their favourites leave.

After missing the exit door, Tebogo seemed to have calmed and better prepared as he belted out 'When a man loves a woman' by Michael Bolton, Sid said he couldn't understand why Tebogo was on bottom three as he has been the winner for tasks songs throughout and deserved to be on the show. Ayanda with Madonna's song and Motswafere's, If it aint you by Alicia Keys,  were next both trying to keep their hopes for top three and the judges said Motswafere sang well as he came out vocally strong than before, while Ayanda was still receiving boos from the audience though the judges said she was getting better.

Sharon showed why the judges saved her as she belted out 'It's a man's world' by Christina Aguilera and Sid said she was the best all round, while Kgomotso said she deserved to win the competition as she sings so flawlessly.
