Young entrepreneur releases debut album

Nthume has released his debut album titled The KNN Project, which features three different music genres - hip-hop, kwaito, and house. He says the reason for doing that is quite simple. Apart from doing music Nthume is also an entrepreneur of great repute, having previously owned a clothing store, Sports Gear Importers, which catered for people of different tastes. He says it was the same thinking that influenced his decision when recording this album.

As a result, his album contains different genres. Nthume explains that to him style does not have boundaries.

And true to his philosophy, the young man features a number of musicians, who specialize in different genres on his seven-track album.

He told Showbiz that his songs are tracks one, two, four, and seven, which are: The Best Things (0ne); Refuse to Lose (Two); and Good Times ((Four) - featuring Joy and Mwizane of Wola Gents; and Tripple A.Com (Seven) - featuring Acemath and Feren.

In his desire to involve many genres, Nalbum features a song by Tohfeek Gaafer titled Urban Serenity, featuring Lil' Miss. Track six, Black Skies is by yet another independent musician from the United States of America (US), Jimmy Smith, in collaboration with Rafik Gaafer. While he chose to involve other musicians in his first offering, the young man does vocals and rap in most of his songs. Nthume writes his own lyrics, which he describes as motivational in the sense that his music is 'intended to uplift people's spirits', and most importantly he uses his lyrics not only to express himself but to liberate his soul as well.

'I use my voice to express my way of living,' he says.

Given its nature, this album was recorded in different studios. Some of the songs were recorded at Ever Thankful Productions in Hong Kong, while others were recorded at local studios, MudHut, Chiggz Productions, and Basement Records.

For the connoisseur this is no doubt a must-have album as it contains tunes - from different genres - that are worth listening to.
