'Robby G' releases sensational album

Dubbed 'Robby G' by his fans, Golebeletswe released his eight-track album titled, When I die last year. He said the album has been on the shelves across the country since then.

The first song in the album - When I die - is about how people should learn to deal with death. Also it talks about how death affects the living. The second track - Swagger anthem - is a track that was created mainly to promote a clothing label called 'Swagger Anthem' whose message defines fashion trends among the youth. It also talks about how people should look presentable at all times.

Bomboclat, his third track, is said to be a Jamaican word. Bomboclat is described as being untrue to oneself and the track talks mainly about impostors. The song features 21-inch, an artist whose music genre is dancehall.

The fourth track in the album is Superstar, which talks mostly about stardom and celebrity life. It has a video that has been playing on Botswana Television (Btv) and it features an artist called Dot. Other tracks in the album are: We live once; Baby ke a Gorata; Trees of hope and others.Born in Francistown, Robby G started showing interest in music at the age of seven and when he went to Selolwe to start Form One he joined school competition and talent shows so as to nurture his dance and singing talents.'In junior school I used to blow everyone with my lyrics for I would sing freestyle and in most competitions that I entered I would come first. When I finished my Form Five I was admitted to Limkokwing University where I got to love music even more,' he said.He said that he grew so passionate about music that he decided it was high time he recorded an album.

'This album was recorded in my room, which has been turned into a studio, and to promote the album I am working on a launch that will be mainly focused on the eco-system and the campaign will be called, Trees of hopes. It will be done to promote tree planting in Francistown; and this will be my way of giving back to the community. Shades at bus stops will be installed through this campaign,' he said. He said through the campaign students would be educated on ways to protect the environment and he would therefore welcome help from any willing sponsors.
