BOBS pay attention

The introduction of electrical appliances should be highly monitored since we don't want to lose our houses due to fire from these cheap materials. On three occasions, I nearly found my house in ashes due to an electrical plug made from Shangai China-rated 250volts,13 Amps,513 Watts (250v,13A,513W).
This has proved to be a dangerous adaptor (round to square) to many households, the 13 Amp fuse housed or covered with a red plastic insulation heavy polyethylene material is supposed to disconnect the circuit when the electrical system senses a fault by blowing the fuse wire inside without burning the plastic cover.
It has proved not to be well- constructed and dangerous to the consumer because when it burns, the fuse heat is extended to the plastic cover and to the main wall plug /socket and if not switched off quickly it could cause fire and also damages the socket in such a way that it causes the circuit breaker to trip due to the short circuit.
Batswana are using their hard earned money to build houses and if these houses are not insured obviously it's a loss to our citizens.
May I request BOBS (Botswana Bereau Of Standards) to put an eye on imports especially electrical appliances, some kettles and irons also have some problems mostly those from China.
I urge you to save lives by being proactive and reduce an influx of substandard goods in our country, I believe safety comes first.
There is another irritating practice now from those marketing their products especially furniture shops, musicians and so on they will just hook their papers on your gate without even making sure they are securely tied and this does not go well with most Batswana who prefer their yards to be always clean. Papers are usually left scattered all over the yard. We need to keep the environment clean.
I appeal to promoters and advertisers to always ensure that they securely place all paper materials and collect them after due dates. I am aware you people are marketing yourselves but let us do it without polluting the environment.
