Gaborone warned of water shortage

A press release from the corporation states that the shortage is a result of emergency maintenance work, which is ongoing on the Northern Carrier Scheme 1. This is the pipeline that transports water from Letsibogo Dam in the north to supply Gaborone and greater Gaborone. It also supplies Palapye and Mahalapye en-route to Gaborone.

The release states that the work on the pipeline started last week and will end on September 7. During this time users in the areas will experience low pressure to no water at times. The corporation urges users to use water wisely so that it lasts them longer.
