TICH, General Ozzy to collaborate

His music sounds a lot similar with popular Zambian musician, General Ozzy's. Though none of his tracks is a carbon copy of Ozzy's popular Potential, it is easy to liken the two.With the two musicians now working on a collaboration album, fans should expect a sizzler come December.'My music is similar to a host of Zambians', but I am not trying to imitate them. They are an inspiration to me, which is why I have decided to work with some like General Ozzy, J-Kay as well Sunga Man. The three will be featured in my next album, which should come out in December,' TICH told Showbiz.

He believes his usage of various languages like Setswana, Zulu, Shona and other coupled with his unique rhythm makes his style unique. Ironically, he believes he is the pioneer of that style of music in Botswana.Tich, who started featuring in other musicians' album as early as his secondary school days, says he is a versatile performer who is comfortable with a host of genres.He featured disco turned gospel musician, Thibazo's debut hit Seileng, while he was still a student at Moeding College. He also featured Kearoma Rantao's Afro-pop single a few years ago and also worked with Tite on her debut.Hooking up with Ozzy, Sunga Man and J-Kay taught TICH that success in music is due to hard work and sacrifice. 'They have taught me to be patient and double my efforts in everything that I do even when things are going my way.

In fact I have learnt that staying focused can be the most difficult part once the fans start cheering and shows are lined up,' he said.TICH's debut Mgani Wami released earlier this year was a culmination of work that started in 2008 and he is optimistic that the amount effort put in producing the project will pay dividends. 'Already there are indications that this album is not only helping me get the recognition but also the genre itself is getting good attention as a result,' he said proudly.
