Capital Motors increases volleyball deal to P350, 000

The figure will be spread over two years and comes as a huge boost to the Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) that has enjoyed a four-year relationship with the car dealer. The partnership, in its fifth year, started with only P50, 000 in 2008.Unveiling the sponsorship in Gaborone on Tuesday evening, the Capital Motors sales manager, Michael Masunga said they did not have any regrets sponsoring volleyball. He said they have realised the passion the leadership has in ensuring that the game succeeds. Masunga, however, said although there were notable improvements, he challenged the volleyball family to continue to up its game to the highest level. 'I challenge you to emulate codes like athletics and boxing because it is possible (to reach the highest level,' he said.

BVF president, Daniel Molaodi said they were indebted to Capital Motors for the commitment that they have shown in their partnership. He said there have been notable improvements in the game since the company started sponsoring them.'In the past five years we were ranked third in the region, but now we are number one,' he said.He promised that the sponsorship as usual would be put to good use. Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) chairperson, Solly Reikeletseng assured the two partners of his organisation's support towards sustaining the partnership.

'At BNSC, we view success in one sport code as success in the wider spectrum of sport,' he said. Reikeletseng commended Capital Motors saying it is through such support that sport in Botswana can develop, as government cannot manage alone. The tournament is scheduled to start on September 8 and the winners will qualify for the Zone VI club championships.
