Young donors plan 'First Dance of Hope' for Madigele

And thankfully Batho's plea has not fallen on deaf ears as people are coming forward to assist the young man.Speaking to Showbiz, Mbulawa Nthoiwa said he and his other partners would be staging a music festival on September 1 in a bid to raise money for the young man. He said that as young men they had been touched by the plight of another young man and felt the need to assist where they could.

The festival will be called First Dance of Hope and stated that all the proceeds will go to Batho to help him cover his medical expenses. He said that as a part of Crowd Mechanics (a company owned by him and fellow deejays) they will be putting together a big show that is expected to attract a lot of people.

He said that although they have Batswana artists on the line up, they will also bring South African artists. The reason being that they want a solid line up that will manage to attract people.  He added that although they will have to be paying for both local and South African artists to perform they hope the money they raise from the show will be more than the money they spend in putting the show together. So far Nthoiwa says they have approached different companies to help them with sponsorships. 'Although it might be a bit hectic some are coming forward to assist though some are a bit reluctant,' he said.

He added that they have talked to Batho's parents about their plans to mount the music festival. Batho's mother, Nametso Madigele has confirmed that she had been contacted by the young men planning to assist her son. She said that she is thankful to them for their compassion.  Madigele said that she is also grateful for the support she has been getting from Batswana in general. She said that so far they have been able to raise P150,000 adding that she is hopeful that they will manage to raise the balance. There is also a facebook page set up to help the young man called Batho Needs a Kidney Campaign.

The page has been established by a group of youth and their main aim is to make people aware as well as raise funds for him.Batho is currently doing his final year at Seepapitso Senior Secondary School in Kanye where he comes from.  Donations can be deposited into Batho Madigele's Barclays Bank, Kanye, Account No: 1037955.
