Botswana acts showcase at GSS grounds

The event attracted a large number of audiences who came to witness the launch of the year. The theme behind the launch was to celebrate local artists and to bring local music to the people free of charge.The launch was also a way of welcoming back the main man, Tshepiso Shima Molapise affectionately known as Kast back into the music industry. The artist also sang some of his previous hit songs which included Ntsha nkgo, Sejabana, Bantuka, Ke nesa pula,Nduno before delivering his promotional single 'BW Party'.

Kast' latest single has been receiving great reviews and it was evident the fans were eager to see the main act himself on stage with multitudes thronging the GSS grounds to witness the all-star line up of local musicians under one roof in support of Kast.The launch party was sponsored by YARONA FM and Twizza drinks. It had been a while since the political science graduate and rapper released a new album and one can say it was the biggest come back ever. The show gained momentum as the day went on with local artistes sharing the stage one after another.

It even attracted musicians that have been absent for while in the music circles, such as Mingo wa Tsotsi.Though the crowd seemed a bit tired from standing since morning, one artists who seem to be the star of the moment A.T.I of  'Ke Lekhete', fame gave the audience some shake as he took to the stage.With his stage antics and striking lyrics he ATI was a marvel to fans. He also performed a song, 'Promises' with My Star runner up, Motswafere and the crowd couldn't get enough of them as they left the stage. Promises is part of ATI's full length album, which also includes the first single Ke lekhete.

Women were also represented, with Tshepi D and D-Nice appearing within the male dominated line up.The artist's manager, Godson Tshipietsile updated Showtime that the single is doing so good as its been getting massive air-play on a number of local radio stations and even played at the big brother house. 'The single is going to be promoted countrywide through a national tour which hopes to promote Kast's upcoming album.The single 'BW Party' promises to take Botswana to another level as Kast describes it as a song that appeals to people of different backgrounds ranging from township lives to suburb lives.

Kast told Showtime that he is happy with the turnout and grateful for the support that he has been getting from the public so far.The event featured the likes of Spiza who seemed to be a crowd puller and popular acts in, Mosako, Scar, Vee, Juju Boy, Wizards, A.T.I, Eskimos,Flexy,Eureka,Eugen Jackson, Apollo Diablo, T.H.A.B.O, BK proctor, Oracle, Drama Boi, P-Mag, K-Bos, Touch, H.T, Ozi F Teddy, Magosi, Punah Gabasiane, Cibil Nyte, Bone C, Tshepi D, Flexyvillie and many other upcoming artists.The celebrations continued later on at the Bull& Bush where more than 20 local famous Djs entertained the crowd, the DJs included the likes of Dj Timmy, T-izzy, Dj Phouboy,Ricky Lamar among others.
