O'Connor rocks Botswana In Tina Turner Re-Make Show

Everyone waited patiently for the show to start because they were eager to see what the Tina Turner impersonator's performance would be like.  Many questioned if O'Connor would be able to match the now 73-year-old star's performances.  As O'Connor's band entered the stage revellers in the fully packed arena roared in excitement as they were treated to first class rock beats.

A few minutes later O'Connor - with her two dancers Hailey and Ashley in their skimpy mini dresses - entered the hall.  With a hairdo that looked like Tina Turner's hairstyle, the Irish star was a perfect mimic of the diva.  She started the show with one of Turner's popular songs, What's Love Got To Do With It as the audience sang along.

This active and energetic singer surprised many as one could be fooled into believing that she was the rock 'n' roll queen herself. Most of the revellers couldn't resist falling in love with her as she treated them to a riveting performance.  Her crew played along, making the show even more fabulous and worth every thebe as they all responded to the audience and their master.  She sang some of the legend's songs like When The Heartache Is Over, and Missing You, which, she says, reminds her of her parents whom she loves so much; We Don't Want Another Hero, Better Be Good to Me; and Private Dancer - which her dancers, who were clad in black and pink skimpy see-through night dresses - helped sing beautifully.

When singing I Don't Wanna Loose You, O'Connor asked the couples in the hall to stay closer together to feel each other's presence and tell their partners how much they loved them. This stage enthusiast blew her audience away with her tremendous performances.  She told the audience that as Turner can no longer tour due to old age, she has taken the privilege of keeping her music alive by touring and giving the performances her best shot.

O'Connor continued spoiling her audience with Tina Turner's hits.  When she sang Simply The Best, everyone in the hall stood up and joined her in singing the hit.  Some went to the front near the stage where they danced and sang, while others were happy only to touch the star's hands in approval.

Her performance was beyond expectations and everyone was very excited at what they saw.  O'Connor told the audience that she was the only person in the world whom Tina Turner had endorsed to sing her songs.

'Tina saw me perform one day and said to me: 'Rebecca, if I had that energy of yours, I would be touring now''.

After the show that left the audience thirsting for more songs, O'Connor, who revealed that she had had a beautiful and wonderful experience of a lifetime, took a moment or two to chat and took pictures with some of her new fanatics.  She and her band that has been with her for two-and-a-half years now, made it a night to remember for Gaborone revellers who had a chance to get closer to such a talented and wonderful artist.
