Tafic brushes aside GNT

As early as the 15th minute, Tafic had signalled their intention to entertain their hordes of fans with beautiful, exciting carpet football that their fans always crave for.   TAFIC's winger Godfrey Lemphorwana upped the game's tempo when he attacked the GNT goalie Bugalo Gunda with a hard shot in the 17th minute. Lemphorwana then  combined with Ouidiance Rundofa, and Tlhagiso Mamono and the trio easily tore the GNT defence apart.

The attacks resulted in a handball by a GNT defender inside the 18th area in the 20th minute resulting in a spot kick that Mamono easily slotted home.

TAFIC's winger Anderson Siphambe then emerged and began crossing into the 16th area, balls that became a serious threat to GNT.  At this time, GNT was under pressure, while their  defenders Chakazha Pharo and Marshall Gono looked unshakeable in TAFIC's rear guard.  Mamono exhibited good skills  and determination to score  as he often  unleashed hard shots from distances away. On the  28th minute Godfrey Lemphorwana who ran through a maze of GNT players from the defence, passed the ball  to Anderson Siphambe to score and make it 2-0 for Tafic.

It seemed the second goal paralysed  GNT. Tafic goalie Mosimanegape Robert was at ease. Balls hardly came his way. Only one side of the field seemed to be in use, as Tafic players did not allow the ball to cross into their half.

Although GNT strikers Teko Molapise and Motlhokomedi Mombala tried very hard to attempt scores from the Tafic side, they hit a hard rock.

GNT came back into the second half showing signs of improvement. Joseph Joseph was one GNT player who began to frequent the Tafic goalie in a quest for goals.

Their determination however seemed to be finally paying off as a penalty was given in the 57th minute when a former Tafic midfielder,  Tamocha Bedi was fouled.  Motshidi Nkolo reduced the deficit from the spot kick.

The goal seemed to give GNT some ray of hope. They began putting more pressure on Tafic. Bedi would frequent Tafic goalkeeper, threatening to score time and again. The referee Omphile Phuthego's final whistle rescued Tafic from what looked to be heading into a sad ending, and what a relief! Team line-ups
