The couple met before they founded Culture Spears and released their debut album, Korone, in 2005.Mogwe told Showbiz that all the traditional processes of arranging for marriage have been completed, but would not reveal how much he is paying in lobola (the bride prize).
Another founding member of the group, Thembeni Ramosetheng, tied the knot in 2009.Despite being only a few weeks away from their wedding day, Mogwe says he and Charma Gal are not taking any time off from their busy Culture Spears' schedule. The group has been travelling around the country promoting their latest release, Kueletsane, whose DVD version was released last week.
This Friday the group will be performing in Orapa before proceeding to Paje the following day. Then they are launching their new DVD in Gaborone on October 29 before heading for Jwaneng the next day. November 4 - 5 sees them performing in Francistown and Selebi-Phikwe respectively. They travel to Kasane and Sua Town on November 11 - 12.
Mogwe says after the second leg of their wedding day on December 10, they will resume the group's national tour on December 18. 'We are not halting our tours; they put bread on the table, we see no reason to take a break off our tours,' added Mogwe who said they are coping with the pressures of organising for the wedding day and the tour schedule.
Meantime, the group's DVD started playing on the Botswana Television (Btv) Flava Dome programme on Friday, but it was not the title track Kueletsane that opened the group's DVD debut, instead, they went for the song, Kentane, which is more in the mould of their hit tracks Mantlwaneng in the first album and Borikhirikhi in Kulenyane.
The song also merges a number of popular Tswana children's ditties to come up with one song that would take anyone back to their childhood days.
