Rising gospel star releases DVD

The DVD is titled Lefu La Jesu, and it follows a debut album that Thaelo had released about eight months ago.Just like the album CD, the DVD has eight tracks - Pelatulo, Lefu La Jesu that is a title track; Marching To Jerusalem; Metholo Ya Lefatshe; Tsamayang Le Lefatshe; Modimo Wa Baeseraele; and Basodi Baka Sola.

The DVD just like his debut album was shot and produced at Soundherat 'Melo' Studios, with the editing of videos done by Unami Maswabi.  The gospel DVD features the green scenery of the Shashe River and Shashe Dam in the background.

The DVD bears the word gospel.  Thaelo, would before every video, introduce the song and relate to the viewer, the message behind the song. Thaelo, who is a member of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC), said as a young person he deliberately chose to venture into what he defines as Kwaito-Gospel, a mixture of gospel music with an upped tempo of kwaito music.   Thaelo acknowledged the fact that Batswana have hugely appreciated his album.

'Every time I do shows, I carry the CDs with me and after listening to my songs, people often scramble for them,' he said.  Further, Thaelo said that as an artist, he is on a mission to try to influence young people to reform and follow Christian teachings through his gospel songs, which he has specifically composed for them.

In his album he also talks of love and respect that God has for his children so that they can live with it in this world without discriminating against others.

Thaelo said that his music is probably the first of its kind locally, for which he wants to provide a niche market. 'My music is slightly similar to that of the likes of Fatshe Molokwane and Senki Mathe.  It caters for everyone, a young person who likes kwaito would enjoy the music just as an elderly person who prefers gospel, would,' explained Thaelo.
