Accidents claims one life

Station Commander Tatitown, Tebogo Madisa, said police are investigating the accident in which the mini-bus, bound for Tutume carrying 14 passengers including the driver, was hit by a truck on its way to Francistown. 'The truck lost control after it hit a cow and swerved into the left lane that was used by the mini-bus. The mini-bus driver tried to avoid the truck but it was too late because the truck hit it on the backside thus shifting the mini-bus to the other side of the road. The truck then hit the mini-bus on the left side,' said Madisa.

He told The Monitor that a 28-year-old man who is a civil servant in Tutume was seated in the back seat of the mini-bus on the side that was hit by the truck. 'The man sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital where he was certified dead on arrival,' said Madisa. However, other passengers sustained minor injuries. Madisa warned drivers to be careful whenever they use roads infested with livestock.
