'Sister Bertinah' controversy hits Sebina

The artist who had earlier on in the week put up placards that Sister Bertinah was going to grace Sebina fled to the truck that he had hired, when a mob of people came after him. The audience complained that Vuka otherwise known Executive Rogers, had taken advantage of the people of Sebina just because he thought they did not know who Sister Bertinah was or even how many versions to the song they were. One enraged woman said that he thought that he was dealing with morons.

'We know the song, we don't know the artist but we know for sure that it's not him. He was trying to play from a tape,' she said.

Vuka tried to sing the version to the song that goes, Sis Khethiwe only to be booed off stage as soon as the people realised that it was not who they were hoping for. The charged fans started throwing cans of beer at the artist who somehow found a way to escape.

The 24-year-old Rodgers released a six-track house kwasa album titled 'Sweetie' last year. When Vuka felt threatened by the mob he fled and left the band and dancers he had hired, to face the music.

One of the dance group members said that Vuka hired them under the impression that they were going to be performing alongside the Sister Bertinah and they never bothered to ask which one.

'He kept on telling us that they were on their way to Sebina so we should just keep performing but those were lies,' he said. The group of dancers -known as Ghetto Mafia were left in Sebina with nowhere to go and nowhere to sleep. Apparently Vuka called out to Botshelo Complex and claimed to be the so-called Sister Bertinah and was wondering if he could do a show with them.

The Sister Bertinah hit song is one of the most controversial songs of the year. At the beginning of the year after the song received massive airplay in clubs and parties three artists started fighting over the rights of the song.  Tshepo Nkabinde AKA  DJ Big T, Stevor and a group going by the name Mogarimbe featuring Jabu  all claimed that the song belonged to them, to the extent of going on RB2 and calling each other names. Sister Bertinah fans went crazy after Vuka  took advantage of the fact that they did not know who the real Sister Bertinah was.

The show that was charged P30 at the door left fans speechless while Vuka disappeared into the night.
