God will not allow homosexuality and prostitution in Botswana

Most people in Botswana are aware of the pressures being mounted on the government and Parliament from within and without to legalise homosexuality and prostitution. Christians believe that Botswana is a country of God and the people therein belong to God.
As a dutiful and diligent child of God, I have decided to expose to the government and people of Botswana, as well as the evils of homosexuality and prostitution.
The two are not only abuse and sins against the human body; they are against God. It is bad enough to engage in these wicked anti-social practices, but it is insulting to all sensibilities that these same people who should be in mental hospitals and prison cells respectively, are so audacious as to request government and Parliament to legalise their despicable and outrageous practices.
We are aware that they are making the same moves and pressures on governments and parliaments across Africa.
However, we know that they will fail and scatter in Jesus' name.
Legislating to support homosexuality and prostitution makes both government and the legislators witting and unwitting accomplices to sin. According to God's infallible words, both sinners and their accomplices will not go unpunished. Only the counsel of God will prevail in Botswana, in the name of Jesus. My informed opinion on these issues are explained as follows:
In the beginningIn the beginning, God created first Adam and later Eve upon realising that it was not good that man should be alone. God thus created Eve as a necessary companion and helper for Adam. Although God created many animals before Eve, and Adam gave them names, He did not find any of them suitable as a companion to Adam. God created man in His own image and He created them in male and female. God blessed His creations and commanded them to be fruitful and to multiply and replenish the earth.
Is there anybody doubting that God made Eve as Adam's wife? Matthew 19 says: 'The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female.
'And said for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder'.
In the beginning, God joined a man and a woman together for them to produce holy seeds. God never joined a man to a man nor a woman to a woman!
God being the master architect who knows and sees in eternity, He has even to-date equipped all His creations with all they need, biologically and otherwise, to fulfil their assigned purposes on earth. Hence, a man is equipped with strong and big muscles and with male reproductive organs while a woman is equipped with extra body fat, the uterus and breasts.
Thus God created man and woman to complement each other, thus initiating the beginning of the family. A family is composed of the man, the woman and the children produced from the union.
Why did God create the family? Malachi 2:15 says: 'And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth'.
A family is the unit of society and a collection of families breed a good and successful nation. Each member of the family has a role to play in order for the family to fulfil its purpose in life.
God and homosexualityHomosexuality is defined as the sexual attraction to or sexual relations with somebody of the same sex. In today's parlance, it includes gays and lesbians. God did not create man and woman as hermaphrodites. He equipped them with the male and female reproductive organs respectively. God thus seriously frowns upon the abuse, misuse and desecration of the human body.
This is because the human body is supposed to be the Temple of God. God explicitly warns His children against un-Godly and amoral sexual acts (Leviticus 18:22-23; Romans 1:24-27). This was exactly the case with Sodom and Gomorrah when men lusted after other men and women after other women (Jude 1:7-8; Genesis 19:1-24) and God destroyed them with fire and brimstone.
Since our God remains the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrew 13:8), the homosexuals in our midst need to repent and change from their wicked and evil ways, lest God's anger be kindled against them. As a Pentecostal pastor and a member of the Evangelical Fellowship of Botswana (EFB), I and others shall continue to play our roles as watchmen by admonishing the homosexuals and by interceding for them.
Botswana culture and homosexualityThe culture of a people is their shared beliefs and values. These include their customs, practices, social behaviour and general ways of life. Culture is necessary for a healthy society as it guides how members interact and relate together for the peace, progress and development of society. The custodians of society's culture are the governments, rulers and legislators. These groups of people make and implement policies and edicts to sustain and promote individual and national development. Any act or behaviour that is contrary to the people's ways is termed anti-social and appropriately sanctioned. According to Botswana laws and customs, these anti-social behaviours and practices include stealing, robbery, drunkenness, rape, murder, drug addiction, homosexuality and prostitution. Yes, culture is expected to be dynamic by being periodically reviewed to include new practices and behaviours that will add value to the lives of the people. But what value would the inclusion of homosexuality into Botswana culture add to the people's lives, integrity, progress and development?
Homosexuality and the quest for its legalisation in BotswanaIt is very daring and insulting for a few societal deviants to go public and request for legislative protection. It is bad enough that some people in Botswana are homosexuals against the norms of the land, but it is worse for the government and legislators to ever entertain any thought of legitimatising these debasing acts. Legislation is normally made for the individual's and the national good and development. Legislating to protect homosexuality would only serve to placate and gratify the selfish and amoral propensities of the few homosexuals in our midst. Some of the evil effects of homosexuality on society include destruction of the family, with the indirect implications of untrained and homeless children, increased juvenile and adult delinquency, teenage pregnancies and parenthood, rape, drug addiction and HIV/AIDS. Then there is the expected stifling of the growth of the population and the creation of a sub-culture of sexual perversion.
Homosexuality and the familyThe greatest enemies of the family in Botswana today are homosexuality and prostitution. Have we ever sat down and pondered deeply the fact that the greatest problems of Botswana today can be indirectly attributed to the breakdown and progressive destruction of the family? The family is dying, if it is not already dead, in Botswana. Therefore, legalising homosexuality and prostitution will bury the family completely and consequently the hope of its revival and restoration in Botswana. Children born into families of husband and wife benefit from basic home training, which is later built upon by schools' training. Without good foundational home training provided by the father and the mother, any later school training becomes much like pouring water into a basket. Further, a child that is not trained at home will be trained on the street. A child trained on the street is more likely to ultimately turn around to destroy the home and society. All juvenile and adult delinquency, as well as diseases like drug and alcohol abuse, rape, robbery, street children and HIV/AIDS can be traced to the absence of home training.
The Bible, the good book of God, says train your children and he/she will give you peace (Prov. 22:6; Prov. 23:13; Prov. 29:15). Thus good legislation to promote marriage and the family in Botswana will be a big boost to a healthy, peaceful and prosperous nation. God commanded men and women to multiply, to be fruitful and to replenish the earth. This means that we need to bear children in obedience to God and in order to perpetuate the race and increase the population. Homosexuals cannot produce children. Such adopted children invariably become homosexuals and sinners.
Any attempt to legalise homosexuality and prostitution is an affront and a disservice to the aspirations of the people and government of Botswana. Instead, laws and edicts should be promulgated to promote the formal union of men and women in marriage and the production of children within the unions. This has happened before in some Asian countries. For example, families can be given a tax moratorium and other forms of financial support while children from such families can be given food and monetary allowances. Some countries in Africa once gave marriage allowances and children allowances to married employees with children as part of their monthly salaries. Thus, any support for the call for legalising homosexuality and prostitution is based either on ignorance or outright mischief or on both.
Should laws be made to protect or placate deviants? Just as homosexuals claim to have chosen homosexuality as their preferred way of life against the norms and values of society, other anti-social and criminal groups such as thieves, robbers, kidnappers, drunkards, rapists, murderers and drug addicts may rationalise their misconduct as their chosen ways of life. If your son or daughter decides to be a thief or a cheat for whatever reason, you would not protect or justify his/her stealing or cheating acts by re-ordering or creating new rules for him or her. You would rather rebuke him harshly. Nobody was born a homosexual, just as nobody was born a thief or a rapist. They are all acquired behaviour due to improper and inadequate training from the home.
How homosexuals and prostitutes should be dealt withHomosexuals and prostitutes need to be sharply rebuked and counselled. Many of them will actually qualify to be sent to psychiatric homes for proper treatment and rehabilitation.
Any discussion with those lobbying for legislation in support of homosexuality and prostitution amounts to negotiating and compromising with the devil. Nobody negotiates and compromises with the devil and survives. The government and the legislators should instead shout at and firmly rebuke the devil that comes in the guise of campaigners for homosexuality and prostitution.
The current move by homosexuals and prostitutes is a well-crafted and scripted one from the Western world where family values are near zero. It is in the same way that they sold to us concepts of single parents and cohabitation, which we gullibly accepted. We are all aware of the enormous damage these two latter practices have wrought on Botswana. For instance, nationally, we now have higher percentages of single parents and cohabiting partners than married couples. This is not the plan of God for humankind and for Botswana in particular. As children of light, we Christians are expected to be beacons of hope in society. While we as pastors will continue to counsel and intercede for the wayward and perverts in our midst, the homosexuals and prostitutes are free to continue living their lives of emptiness and darkness. However, for them to ask for legislation to protect and encourage them is the height of impunity, audacity and amorality.
The homosexuality and prostitution movement is a crazy wind blowing across Africa. Thank God that some governments, such as Malawi and Nigeria, have publicly denounced and rebuked these evil pressure groups. I prayerfully appeal to the government and legislators not to sacrifice the future of the good people of Botswana on the altar of expediency. God will give you the wisdom, boldness and courage to resist and rebuke the devil.
