'He has been very sick over the last couple of days, when I phoned him on Monday this week, he sounded very tired and spoke very slowly. Today his wife sent me an sms announcing that Don B is no more,' Thuso added.
Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) President Alfred Mosimanegape also confirmed that he has been informed about the sudden death of the talented singer. Don B first made his mark in the late '90s when he released his first album, a soulful album that was, however, followed up by successive disco music projects after he started working with South African disco giants, Splash.
The dreadlocked and visually-impaired singer is best remembered for his album, Banyana ba Serowe. He also recorded a moving song about the success of the national football team, Zebras, vividly capturing the moment when the then Zebras striker Oliver Pikati's (may his soul rest in peace) powerful shot tore a ball into pieces when Stanley Tshosane's charges demolished Swaziland 6-2 at the National Stadium in a 2001 Four Nations Tournament hosted in Gaborone.
