Premier League trio face defining moment

Motlakase Power Dynamos, Miscellaneous and TASC are facing a defining moment in a memorable photo finish at the bottom. The race is spiced up by the fact that Miscellaneous is pitted against TASC in Selebi-Phikwe as Motlakase takes on Nico United at the DH Moore in Orapa.  Miscellaneous can only survive if they beat TASC and Motlakase lose or draw against Nico. The Serowe side has 23 points, one behind TASC and Motlakase.  Both TASC and Miscellaneous were promoted at the beginning of the campaign while Motlakase are in their second season. Yesterday, Miscellaneous' coach, Teenage Mpote, told Mmegi Sport that although the Motlakase-Nico game could have a bearing on their survival chances, they will not be worried too much about what is happening in Selebi-Phikwe.  He said that it is important they give 100 percent concentration in their game against TASC. 'We will play wholeheartedly whether Motlakase win their game against Nico or not.

'Our aim is to improve in each and every game and if it happens that we survive, we would not want to see ourselves in the same situation next season,' he said.  He added that though they played with youngsters when they were promoted to the Premier League, they would have competed well if it was not for the fact that they travelled every week.

TASC coach, Boinyana Galeboe, said it is always tough at this crucial stage of the league.  He said players usually find it difficult to focus but added that they know the importance of the game.

He noted the importance of focusing on their game although he has doubts about the suitability of the DH Moore Stadium in Orapa. It will be the first Premier League game played at the venue this season.

Motlakase who registered a surprising 3-0 victory over TAFIC last Saturday will be playing top-flight football again next season if they win away to Nico regardless of the outcome of the Miscellaneous-TASC tie. Coach Oris Radipotsane said the current log standings clearly prove the competitiveness of Nico. But he added that his charges are eager for victory.

In other matches tomorrow, Mochudi Centre Chiefs host Uniao Flamengo Santos at Molepolole Sports Complex while BMC and Extension Gunners face each other in a Lobatse derby. BDF XI host Police XI at SSKB Stadium.

ECCO City Greens welcome TAFIC in a Francitown derby. Tonight, Gaborone United (GU) take on Notwane in what is expected to be a thriller although GU have already secured fourth position.

On Sunday, champions, Township Rollers, take on relegated Black Peril in Molepolole. All the games kick off at 3:30pm except the GU-Notwane game, which starts at 7:00pm.
