*July 14, 2008 - A fourth and final brief is released, comprehensively scaling down scope of work
*August 20, 2008 -Tender opening for the final brief
*October 2008 - Government announces intention to close National Stadium for renovations
*November 10, 2008 - The National Stadium is closed for renovations with January 2010 targetted for re-opening
*November 2009 - The project consultant announces that the re-opening of the stadium will not meet the January 10, 2010 deadline
*January 2010 - Fears mount as the re-grassing of the pitch is cited for the delays
*June 10, 2010 - The World Cup kicks off in South Africa with no hopes of the stadium being completed
*August 2010 - BNSC returns to its completed offices at the National Stadium raising hopes that the pitch will be completed.
*February 22, 2011 - The Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology announces that the stadium is still not ready
*March 2011 - Hopes fade after an announcement that the Africa Junior Athletics Championships will not be held at the National Stadium as it is incomplete
*May 2011 - The government and consultant reveal that the fight over a poor drainage system is far from being resolved.
