Batswana respond to appeal for Baone (14)

Baone's parents left him with his aunt who has been bedridden due to illness. Efforts to get assistance with the Social Welfare Department have been unsuccessful as his family has been told he is now too old to resume his primary education.

Since the boy's story was published in the Thursday Mmegi, the response from members of the public has been overwhelming. Batswana from Gaborone, Francistown, Canada to London have indicated that they would like to assist Baone. While some have pledged to help get him back to school, others have offered financial assistance, clothes and blankets, with some even talking of adoption.

Any contributions can be made at the Mmegi Office, 3rd floor.
