Boxer Seoko awarded silver medal

This comes after the Sri Lankan boxer, who won gold, was found to have used performance-enhancing drugs. This now means Botswana won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the 'Club' Games.

Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) spokesperson Willough Kemoen said they were excited about the development and adding that his organisation is totally against the use of drugs. He added that Seoko himself was tested and came out negative. Kemoen said they always keep their athletes up to date with information on banned substances because they want to keep them clean and away from such drugs.

The Botswana National Olympics Committee (BNOC) will mail the bronze medal to the games officials who will in turn send the silver here. Seoko, however, is not really excited about the new deal. He said though he deserved it after working so hard he has nothing to celebrate because it would not make any difference. 'If it had come earlier it would have helped me in things like the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) and BoBA annual awards,' he said.
