United meet Leopards in the first leg of the final today, with the second match set for Saturday in Limpopo. The winner of the two-legged tie will play in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) next season.
Bright's Port Elizabeth outfit dismissed Thanda Royal Zulu after a convincing 4-1 thumping on Saturday night to progress to the final. On the other hand, Leopards beat Vasco Da Gama 3-1 at the Cape Town Stadium to finish with a 4-1 aggregate.
Bright is confident his charges will emerge victorious after the two-legged final. 'Take nothing away from them, they are a very strong side and I know them very well. I've been following their progress but I know my boys can do it. All we will need to do is prevent them from scoring and we get in two goals in the first leg at home,' he said in the South African media.
He will pin his hopes on on-loan Moroka Swallows striker Phumelele Bhengu and Bryce Aka. He also has Zebras' goalkeeper Modiri Marumo to bank on. The former BDF XI custodian has been instrumental in the club's fortunes this season. Bright was impressed by his team's performance last weekend. The former Premiership side had struggled to score in their three play-off matches. Their strike force finally came to the party and went on a scoring spree against their KwaZulu-Natal rivals.
