Justice Isaac Lesetedi will hear the matter again when lawyers for both parties make submissions on June 28. On Friday the two lawyers, Duma Boko for BOPRITA and Batsho Nthoi who is representing BOPRITU, briefed the judge in his chambers about a joint meeting of the two organisations held last Saturday.
The meeting sanctioned by court resolved that BOPRITA should not be incorporated into BOPRITU. However BOPRITU members had walked out in protest that the elections were not free and fair.
The two organisations are fighting over assets after BOPRITU changed the BOPRITA First National Bank account into their name. Allegations are that they have been making huge withdrawals from the account.
BOPRITA is claiming that BOPRITU officials are failing to account for the money. The founders of BOPRITU are former members of BOPRITA.
In the application, BOPRITA wants the respondents to be restrained from carrying out transactions on the FNB account.
BOPRITA is also seeking relief that the court should declare that the transfer of the bank account to BOPRITU be declared unlawful, improper and a nullity.
The association is also praying that the court should order that the bank account should be reverted to their name. The court should also declare that BOPRITA is the only party entitled to transact on this account.
