Tshosane keeps cool

The Matebele tactician told Mmegi Sport that their primary goal is to get maximum points though this is not going to be easy. Tshosane asserted that it was good to see his charges responding well to instructions throughout the GU game.

'I would also like to thank my players (Modiri Marumo and Mompati Thuma) who had just returned from Belgium for their performance,' he said.

He added that though many people were surprised to see Marumo and Thuma playing, an arrangement had been made with them before they left for Europe. 'We knew their situation and level of fitness. As for Viola (Gabolwelwe), he asked to be excused as he was carrying an injury,' he told Mmegi Sport.

Tshosane said that he is impressed by his squad and he believes that BDF XI can go all the way. 'As a coach, you would always want some players but I'm fine with the current squad,' he said. He thanked BDF XI supporters for rallying behind the side during the trying times and vowed that they will not be disappointed. This Sunday, BDF XI travel to the north for a date against TAFIC at the Francistown Stadium. On paper, Matebele are firm favourites to outclass TAFIC in front of their fans.

Interestingly, earlier in the season, talk that BDF XI will launch a late challenge were dismissed out of hand by some people. Against GU, Matebele displayed a great sense of maturity in each department thus scoring two goals in the opening half through Mpho 'Jomo' Mabogo and Bernard Semakwezi.

The latter completed his brace with a clinical finish before John Moipolai completed the routing with the fourth goal from close range.
