Pastors take the war to Satanists

Anyone who tunes in to Pastor Irene Tshifiwa of World Restoration Service, Pastor T.B. Joshua of the much acclaimed Emmanuel TV, Ezekiel TV and a host of others will be terrified to see a lot of people, mostly the young, who do not know better, but have been hooked into Satanism and witchcraft, under the guise that they will become rich or they will develop special powers to live in water like mermaids.

Everyday on these television stations, we see pastors delivering hapless captives of the devil from the yoke of evil spirits of criminality, snakes, blood-guzzling vampires, spiritual husbands, thokolosis and a host of such evil.

Pastors Irene and Joshua in particular have gained household recognition for invoking the name of Jesus Christ in casting out demons when delivering those that have been bound by evil spirits of a system known as Satanism.

Apostle Francis Sakufiwa of the New Season Ministry in Gaborone says the church is aware of the work of what he calls the Kingdom of Darkness's deceptive growth and that the devil must be halted. Far from the glare of television cameras and media coverage, Apostle Sakufiwa has been consistently casting demons from hundreds of Batswana who are possessed by evil spirits. Infact, his church can shame some local referral hospitals with queues of troubled souls who come for deliverance at his ministry.

In a bid to take the war to Satanists, this weekend Apostle Sakufiwa will be in Palapye on an outreach crusade where his ministry will collaborate with Palapye-based Agape Revival Church under the leadership of Pastor Sekgoma and his wife. The trio will lead an all night prayer at Palapye Community Hall on Friday January 28 from 7pm to 7am. This crusade has been dubbed Palapye's spiritual super Friday. According to the organisers, this will be a night of prophesy, healing and deliverance. Another pastor, who is taking the war to Satanists, is Pastor Alfred Baki of Jesus is Coming International Ministry. Pastor Baki has arranged a weeklong revival at his church in the African Mall in Gaborone.

During this revival, Pastor Baki is teaming up with Standing in the Gap Prayer team from Lusaka, Zambia. The revival started on January 21 and will run until January 30. The prayers start at 5.30pm and end at 8pm. According to Pastor Baki, the prayer team is led by Pastor Sunday Sinyangwe and Gideon Kabila. 'Through Jesus Christ we will deliver people that are bound by evil spirits, spiritual husbands and other demons. In this service there will be deliverance, restoration and healing,' Baki said. The testimonies and teachings of Evangelist Kabila are bound to be spellbinding as he was a Satanist before he was delivered. 'This is the man who will expose the Kingdom of Darkness,' Baki said.
