Ministry overrules My Star producer?

Sources say while My Star producer had pressed for a certain college, where Kgalalelo Abotseng the 2010 winner will be studying, the Ministry overruled My Star producer after its independent investigations about the college revealed that it was unsuitable.

Now the Ministry will be sending Tebogo Tlhagadikgora, Kitso Selato and Naledi Thabakgolo to Varsity University, which is also in Capetown, while Kgalalelo will be heading for the college that the Ministry does not recognise.

Showtime is also reliably informed that while Collegium, the sponsors of Kgalalelo's music education in Cape town have agreed to channel all the funds through My Star company, the Ministry would not entertain that arrangement proposed by the five-year-old talent search company.

Instead all Naledi, Kitso, and Tebogo's tuition and allowances will be paid by government following the normal route, through the Department of Student Placement at the Ministry of Education.

Showtime can confirm that the three singers but Kgalalelo have over the last couple of weeks been signing on the dotted line at the Ministry of Education in readiness for their academic programmes

Efforts to contact the 2010 winner were not successful over the weekend as her mobile phone could not go through, nor could she revert to our Facebook message sent to her last week. My Star producer's phones were also unreachable as Showtime sought a comment at press time.
