FRANCISTOWN: Under a fully-packed Francistown stadium and cloudy weather, TAFIC continued its impressive run in the second round of the be Mobile premier league on Saturday as they overcame Lobatse side, Extension Gunners 3-1.
TAFIC supporters came in large numbers to give their club support and boost the players' morale as their forward marksman, Clarkson Dzimbiri, netted the opener on the third minute of play.
The high pace of Dzimbiri, Wellington Sibanda and Godfrey Lemporwana caught Gunners' defence by surprise as they seemed to take long to adjust to the tempo of the game. Gunners' goalkeeper who most of the time strayed away from his line was guilty of some of the goals conceded on the afternoon. Before he knew what was happening, TAFIC were already 2-0 up by half time. The Francistown glamour boys would soon make it 3-0, as the Gunners continued to chase shadows, before managing a consolation late in the second half, with ten minutes remaining
Though Gunners' midfielder and captain, Ofentse Mmipi, played brilliant football in the middle of the pitch supplying the likes of Kgololo Leteane and former Gaborone United striker Otlaadisa TRX Mohambi with impressive passes, lady lucky seemed to have deserted them. With the aim of collecting maximum points, TAFIC scored their second goal three minutes before end of the first half thanks to Godfrey Lemphorwana. Obonye Moswafe would later make it 2-0 before the first half. Wrapping the battle during the referee's optional time in the first half of the first half, Obonye Moswafe found the back of the net in the 46th minute before Gunners scored their sole goal through Leteane in 80 minutes.
