Civil service shake-up, Cabinet reshuffle looming

Meanwhile, broadcasting director, Mogomotsi Kaboeamodimo, has been elevated to the post of deputy PS responsible for the government broadcasting services.

This has sparked speculation that Kaboeamodimo has replaced Jeff Ramsay, who is deputy PS responsible for government media. However, Ramsay, who confirmed Kaboeamodimo's promotion has said he has not been fired and remains deputy PS.

On the other hand, President Ian Khama is expected to reshuffle cabinet towards the end of this month. Though it is not clear who will be replaced, unconfirmed reports say the minister of presidential affairs and public administration, Lesego Motsumi, who is also doubling as minister of defence, justice and security, is said to have been deployed to foreign service where she will serve as Botswana's ambassador to Japan.

However, Motsumi has denied this saying, 'I am still a minister. Right now I am a minister. If there is anything different I will see in the next four or five years,' she said this Wednesday.
