Rasthoem Simons, of SimSport International, is also furious that he heard through the grapevine that his client penned a six-month deal with Notwane. Simons claims the Zebras' playmaker has been ignoring his phone calls. In an interview with Mmegi Sport, Simons revealed that Moloi had an offer from a National First Division side in South Africa and was also due to join Platinum Stars in Rustenburg for final assessment, but flatly refused.
'With Dirang it's a tricky situation because we had an offer from an NFD club and the player was due to join Platinum Stars for a final assessment. My colleague was dealing with the situation and after receiving the news that he had to report to Rustenburg Moloi declined. Now we hear he is going to Finland and has signed for Notwane,' Simons said.
Despite having a valid contract with SimSport, Moloi signed for Notwane with the help of Fabian Zulu and that has not gone down well with the agent.
SimSport International, who also manage Moloi's elder brother, Pontsho, have a valid contract with the gifted player. Simons warned that Moloi must realise that contracts are legal and need to be respected.
Contacted for comment, Moloi rebutted the allegations, questioning why the agent has spoken to the media about the issue instead of him. He admits he has a valid contract with the agent.
'I don't know what he wants, but that guy is not a FIFA accredited agent,' Moloi charged.Simons added that he had lined up a deal for the player in China last year, but blames one Mochudi Centre Chiefs' official for derailing the deal.
'Last year Dirang was invited for a trial in China and the official demanded to know how much money would be paid to Chiefs upfront even though his contract clearly had a set fee in it. Needless to say Dirang missed out on the opportunity.'
Simons also said similar circumstances cost goalkeeper Noah Maposa the Thanda Royal Zulu deal.'This year Noah Maphosa went on trial to Thanda Royal Zulu (in Durban) and to our knowledge he was a free agent. The official then phoned to say he was a Chiefs player once again putting the player's career at a disadvantage,' Simons said.
Maposa attended trials at the NFD side after failing to win a contract at Platinum Stars last month. After returning from the trial, Maposa signed for Gaborone United (GU).
