Groin injury sidelines Moloi

Moloi returned from a one-season stint with demoted South African side Vasco Da Gama and penned a six-month deal while awaiting a possible move to Finland next January.

However, the former Mochudi Centre Chiefs playmaker is yet to play a competitive game for Notwane and has not been seen at the club's training ground for the last two weeks.

The club's public relations officer, Podi 'Ace' Mooki, said Moloi is committed to the side and will start playing once he fully recovers from the injury.

'We had an agreement with him to play for us while he's still looking for a team outside the country. But at the moment he is not playing because he has a groin injury,' Mooki told Mmegi Sport. He added: 'He came for training two weeks back but because of the injury he cannot train. Unfortunately, I don't have the details from the doctor regarding how long he's likely to be out. But until such a time when the injury heals he'll be out.' Mooki said they were in touch with the player and believe once he starts playing Moloi will add value to his side.

'We are in touch with him and we're excited about having him. He's a big name in local football and any team that will have an opportunity to grab him locally it's a plus for them.' But while Mooki is excited about prospects of having Moloi don their colours when he recovers, the player's South African agent Rasthoem Simons of SimSport International is unhappy about the move. Simons was left fuming after the player turned down an offer from a National First Division side in South Africa only to sign with Notwane without his knowledge. He also claimed the player was due to join Platinum Stars in Rustenburg for final assessment, but flatly refused.
