Mmadinare SSS to host Phikwe open

According to BTTA, the following associations will also take part in the Open Championships, BOPRISA, BISA, BOBSA, BOTESSA, PASSOBO, and Special Olympics.

BTTA President Robert Maabong said the tournament is aimed at achieving certain goals in table tennis across the country. He added that the tournament is also aimed at taking Botswana's table tennis to international level.

'We are actually preparing for the regional tournament to be held in Mozambique towards the end of this year. The tournament at Mmadinare SSS is meant to promote table tennis in the central part of Botswana. We also want to promote the sport in the area by encouraging the interested members to form their own clubs to broaden the scope of competition around the country,' said Maabong.

Interested clubs, individuals and associations are required to register with the Tournament Organising Committee. Late entries will not be allowed.  Maabong said the association will be selling t-shirts at affordable prices at the tournament. He also stated that they will charge a registration fee for the participating clubs, and the funds raised will be used to award winning clubs and individuals at the end of the tournament.

He said the association would not be providing meals, accommodation and transport for participants.
