Slizer to perform in Namibia's Katima Mulilo

Namibian promoter Siyata Eustace, who goes by the stage name OF Mr Muzic, has invited Slizer to perform at the Ngwezi Community Hall in Katima Mulilo, Caprivi Strip, on April 22. However, this will not be Slizer's first performance in Katima Mulilo, as she was there for the town's 75th anniversary bash last year.

After her performance The Caprivi praised her show as out of this world. 'In one of the highlights of the year 2010, popular musician Slizer graced the town of Katima Mulilo last December as part of the town's 75th anniversary bash. She literally drove the Katima Mulilo crowd wild when she finally arrived and took centre stage to perform and entertain the fans on New Year's Eve.

Judging by the crowd's reaction when she got onto the stage, it was worth the long wait because they were screaming at the top of their lungs as they were treated not only to singing but also by some great dance moves by the Botswana-born star and her crew,' The Caprivi reported.

The mini-tour organised by Gilbert Promotions will however, begin at home, with Slizer performing at Club Trekkers in Maun on April 21. From the Namibia show, she will head to Kasane where she is expected to perform at Ngina Safaris Lodge at a family fund day, scheduled to start at 11:00 am on April 23.

Slizer is not travelling alone as she has a line-up of supporting acts, comprising mostly up-coming musicians.

One of the supporting acts in the contingent has made a name for herself even though she is yet to release an album. Rejoyce Gaonakala, aka Jojo, will be remembered by many music followers for her lyrically-explicit song Mpatiseng, which raised controversy after the unedited version of the song was played on Botswana Television (Btv)'s Flava Dome. Jojo, who comes form Mmadinare, is expected to drop her debut album tilted Mpatiseng on September 11. Other up-coming artists expected to tour with Slizer are, Slizer's eight-year-old son, Bibo, and Mokgankgara.

The tour facilitator, Gilbert 'PP' Seagile, explained that their primary objective is to give audiences value for their time and money. 'Taking local entertainment to our neighbouring country of Namibia gives us better leverage to share local ethnics, norms, values, and lifestyles in the language that everyone understands,' Seagile said.

Slizer recently had revellers eating out of the palms of her hands when she performed at Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's birthday gala in Harare.  It was not her first time to perform in the neighbouring country.
