Kgatleng West MP Mangole reassures constituents

Addressing a rally in Mochudi over the weekend, Mangole said some BDP activists have been misinforming his electorate, telling them that by being fired from the BDP he has actually ceased to be an MP because he was elected to parliament on the ballot of the ruling party.

'The truth is that I am still an MP. I was fired from the BDP and not parliament. People should know that I did not run away with their votes, I was just chased from the BDP, but I remain your MP until 2014. Some bitter BDP people are spreading these untruths,' he said.

The BMD leader said they were confronted with this challenge when they went around doing house-to-house campaigns to market and recruit people into the BDP splinter party. Some people confessed that they had been told that they do not have an MP because Mangole has been fired. Some of the people even displayed ignorance of what the BMD is all about and its purpose.

'We realized that we should conduct rallies in freedom squares so that we effectively communicate and explain what prompted my going to the BMD and that I am still an MP,' he told Mmegi.

Mangole further told Mmegi that of late they have been registering a lot of people, majority of whom are youths and workers. That's not the case with elderly. Mangole noted many were  still thinking about whether to join BMD or not.  'Last week we registered 1000 people in Mochudi alone,' he said.
