Stadium unavailability chokes Miscellaneous

With the defective Serowe Stadium declared unfit to host Premier League games, Miscellaneous use either Francistown or Selebi-Phikwe as its homegrounds just like its Palapye counterpart, Motlakase. Miscellaneous official, Goabamong Sethaba said that because of the absence of a home venue, the club is already feeling the effects of always travelling away to play.

He said it is difficult for them to pay salaries because of the huge transport costs.

Sethaba said they survive through the Premier League grant and assistance from Kwena Rocla.

'We do not know what we are going to do in the next few months,' he said.

With sponsorship from Kwena Rocla the club purchased kits, trainers and soccer boots. Sethaba said that after promotion to the Premier League, they appealed to the Bamangwato community for financial help through traditional leaders in Serowe but so far the response is negligible.

'Though the community appreciated our promotion, nobody came forth to assist us financially except the donation of a cow we received from one Tirafalo.

Another villager pledged a cow and we are yet to fetch it,' Sethaba said.

As a way of raising funds, the club has embarked on a membership drive countrywide. Each club member is expected to contribute P50 through the six supporters clubs countrywide.
