BOBSA squad leaves for Zimbabwe

The BOBSA squad will compete in football, volleyball, table tennis, chess and netball against teams from Zimbabwean tertiary education institutions.

BOBSA spokesperson, Atang Tumisang said the games will give players much-needed exposure as it is their first time to compete abroad.

The competition is expected to foster relationships between the two countries through sport.

Tumisang said together with their Zimbabwean counterparts, they want to make the competition an annual event involving other Southern African countries.

Even though the BOBSA teams started training on Monday, the coaches are confident they will do well.  Football coach, Jona Bulawa said they have good players who only need to gel.

He said players are not rusty as they participated in the recent national BOBSA games.

He said their aim is to do well but even if they do not, the competition will be vital in preparing the teams for future international competitions.

Table tennis coach, Botshelo Kenosi said though some players reported to camp late, the team had done enough in training.
