Eke Ntolo 3 out as Culture Spears shelve cultural music album

Last year the Eke Ntolo 2, with tracks such as Chika became the festive season's most celebrated album.   In fact the announcement of the latest instalments might shock the Market, as the Eke Ntolo album remains one of the best selling offerings ever.  The success of the Eke Ntolo project caused some observers to speculate that Culture Spears might now have dumped cultural music, their signature music.  However, in the same statement where they announce the release of Eke Ntolo 3, Culture Spears indicate that a new cultural music release will follow next year.  They say they hope the market for cultural music would be ripe by the first quarter of next year.  Their last cultural music release was Khudu in 2008, and the album last year also followed in the footsteps of its predecessor, Kulenyane, as it bagged Song of the Year at the Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) Annual Awards.

The latest Eke Ntolo album features Magdalene, as Charma Gal and the hit-maker has contributed three songs, including the title track,Matebele, which hit Radio Botswana (RB) airwaves this Tuesday.

Former Rockas and Divine lead singer Mickey, real name Dineo Matlabe, is also featured in the latest installment in which he has contributed three songs.  Last year, the Eke Ntolo project featured Mantshwabisi twins as guests.  The producers of the latest Eke Ntolo project have described it as the 'Best-of-the-best' album.  The DVD version of the Eke Ntolo 3 album also features a short comedy, Rra Mozara, a feature which also became a hit with collectors of the Eke Ntolo 2 DVD.  This time though Rra Mozara features two old men - Rra Monyaku and Rra Mokwetjepe - according to the announcement by Culture Spears studios.
