Zebras On Track For 2012

The boys need to be applauded for the good job they have done so far.  This looks like it is the time when the Zebras will qualify for the African soccer showpiece.  It will be a great achievement for the team and the country in the history of Botswana football.

The boys and the technical team needs the support of everyone for them to realise their goal.  It is quite evident that this time around, the players are more determined for success.

They have said it in the interviews that have been conducted with some of them.  They have categorically stated that they are ready to die on the pitch so that they reach the Promised Land, which is the 2012 AFCON finals.  We should reciprocate their efforts by supporting them in everything that is possible.

We would like to encourage the players not to be overawed by the occasion and think that they have achieved as yet and become complacent.  There is still a long way to go and we can only relax once we are sure that we have qualified.

This is the time for the Botswana Football Association (BFA) to all in its power to make sure that the team is taken care off during this time when everything is pointing in the right direction for us.

The BFA should help the technical team to secure friendly games that will keep the players in tip-top condition ahead of the upcoming qualifiers.

The Zebras still have tough assignments in the second round.  The Zebras will welcome Tunisia home and it is not going to be an easy game.

Tunisia have a bone to chew with the Zebras.  The same with Chad and Togo who were humiliated here.  So the boys need to be well prepared when they meet these teams.

Looking to the future, the BFA should start now and make tentative preparations for the team going to the AFCON finals.  It will be wrong for the association and all the concerned parties to wait for the last minute to start preparations for the team.

This will be our first and we should be proud and it should be reflective in the preparations that we make for the team. Once again, well done to the team.
