Khupe Leads BAIA

According to information from BAIA, Khupe took over from Kgalagadi Breweries (KBL) corporate strategy director, Thapelo Letsholo.

The vice chairman is Nico Vos, country manager of Namibia Breweries and Diageo. Other members of the committee are Jagdish Shah, who is the treasurer. Shah is also director of CA Sales group, which distributes and sells various import alcohol labels. Letsholo and Tom Mpedi of KBL and BBL respectively are additional members.

BAIA was established by the major producers and distributors of alcoholic beverages in Botswana to counter and reduce the abuse of alcohol products.

In addition to the objective of reducing the abuse of alcohol, BAIA also aims to promote self-regulation of the alcohol industry.

The BAIA members are Botswana Breweries (Pty) Ltd, Diageo, Distell Botswana, Heineken International, Kgalagadi Breweries (Pty) Ltd and Namibia Breweries.
