Volleyball league nears end

Pace-setters Kutlwano are leading the league logs in both women and men's categories. Kutlwano men are in top spot with 39 points just two points ahead of second-placed Police. Kutlwano are so far left with only two games to seal their victory. If their showing in the league is anything to go by, Kutlwano look set to win the league. But they are likely to face tough competition from Police who have shown tremendous improvement in the league.

Under former Diphatsa mentor Daniel Ngozi's guidance, Police have been a marvel to watch this season. From the 13 games that they have played, Police have lost only one and just like Kutlwano, they are only left with two games. Kutlwano need to win both games to nudge Police. If they win the games, they will end up with 45 points and Police 43 points. Police on the other side, however, will be praying that Kutlwano lose their matches.

Kutlwano women, who are only left with one game against Spartans, are leading the pack with 27 points ahead of Dynamites who have 21 points. Dynamites are a surprise pack placed behind favourites Mafolofolo and Kalavango who have 19 and 17 points respectively. In the men's weekend games, Itekeng will take on Prisons while Victory Seekers entertain Itekeng at Lobatse.  At the Sir Seretse Khama Barracks (SSKB) courts, Kalavango will pit their wits against Serowe-based Tanian, while sixth-placed Mafolofolo will take on Spartans, and Tanian will again face Difofane in the third game. Spiking Stars date Kalavango while the Sparrows-BDF 6 game wraps up the weekend programme. There will only be two women's games. Spartans will have two games against Mafolofolo and BDF 6.Teams that finish in the Top Eight in both categories will face each other in the top eight tournaments to determine the champion. Mascom cellular network providers are sponsoring the event to the tune of P1 million.
