Kgari in hot soup again!

Kgosi Kgari was brought before the court last year on accusations of defaulting on his monthly maintenance payments, in relation to a child he had with former Miss Botswana, Masego Sebedi.

Kgari was ordered by the Extension II Magistrates Court in June last year to pay a monthly maintenance fee of P1,500, but allegedly failed to do so for the months of September, October and November.

It is alleged that his arrears are about P4,500, which Sebedi wants Kgosi Kgari to pay.

Kgari was dragged before the same court early this year on the same accusation, however Kgari succeeded in barring the public from hearing his case.

In a telephone interview, Sebedi confirmed that indeed Kgosi Kgari was earlier this week dragged before court to clear arrears for the maintenance of their child.

Early this year, Kgosi Kgari stunned the audience, which had come in numbers to listen to his case when he asked the magistrate to bar them from listening to his case.

The court complied with his request by barring members of the public from the courtroom. Kgosi Kgari is among the Bakwena royals who have been under public scrutiny for all the wrong reasons.

At the beginning of this year, former regent, Kgosikwena Sebele, was sent to jail for four years by Molepolole Magistrate for stealing a goat. Sebele tried to appeal the sentence however; Lobatse High Court judge Ian Kirby increased the sentence by a year to make five.

They have also been rumours that Deputy Chief, Keineetse Sebele, has been transferred to Selebi Phikwe, in a bid to resolve the mess that Bakwena royals find themselves in. Recommendations to transfer Sebele, allegedly were made by the Balopi Commission that was set-up early this year by President Ian Khama to try and address the problems in the royal family.

However, Sebele and the government are denying the rumours and they also cannot provide the Balopi Commission's report.
