All religions are not equal

Some Moslems and Hindus, amongst many other religions, are deceived thinking that all religions pray to the same God.

Shockingly they also believe that there is but one God and the difference is only in the name. But is that really so?

Recently while I was conversing with my friends on campus here in Perth, I discovered and heard something very disturbing.

A classmate of mine said that they worship a cow and, according to their religion, that was their 'god'.

A Moslem classmate of mine also said to me, 'Moslems and Christians are all the same.'

We are not the same because we differ on the most critical yet underplayed issue and that is about Christ.

After asking a few more people about their beliefs and faiths, I then came to the emphatic conclusion that indeed most, if not all religions, pray to some god but the reality is that it is not the same true God for all.  There are some who argue that God is the same for everybody. Well that is simply an uncouth and malicious statement and people spreading this kind of information should mull it over a little more for their own salvation.

The reason I say this is because there are religions that consider God to be a cow, which is not what we Christians believe.

The Christian God is Spirit.Already my faith (Christianity) is contradicting what other religions profess God to be. And this is the whole point of what I am trying to say. The 'Christian God' cannot and should never be modelled to be what people feel He should be.

I am not trying to segregate against other religions when I use the term 'Christian God' whom I worship.

I am using this terminology because, of late, even though the majority of people believe in God, there is now a human factor attached to the worship of God in one form or another.

And it is this human factor that is causing division, hatred and bitter wars among the very people who profess to believe in God.

The fact that some religions teach that Jesus is a false Messiah, a prophet/messenger (as Islam teaches) and the Son of God (as Christians believe) reflects statements which are totally opposed to one another.

As a result, whenever there are contradicting statements concerning a matter it simply means something is wrong and out of place because not all statements can be genuine. Therefore, it is a logical possibility for all religions to be true since they contradict one another. And if they are not all true, and if they lead us in different directions, then not all of them can lead to God.

People have idols which they mistake for God. Just by simply scratching the surface of what other religions teach and believe one is then able to decipher the heart of what I am trying to say.

If you let each religion speak for itself, you find they differ greatly on the basic concepts such as God and truth.

Although there is something called spiritual deafness, there is also spiritual blindness and I believe this is what is causing people to believe that all mankind pray to one and the same God.

Indeed the old adage that says, 'One man's food is another man's poison' is correct. If God is a cow then it means He is a mortal God and ultimately has no power, which is an understatement to the true God.

There is also one comically and repulsively grotesque and distorted school of thought that says, 'God has many shapes and forms because each religion visualizes God differently.'

That is totally wrong.

If there was one God for all religions then this would automatically mean that God is not whole but in parts. But it is a fact that God is complete and does not manifest Himself as a cow as some think.

In conclusion, Christianity is not a religion but a way of life based on the Holy Bible. The Christian God is a jealous God and will not accept humankind worshipping Him as a cow or any other man-made object.

If my article has offended the reader then that is good because unless the truth has offended you then you haven't heard the gospel yet.

So if the reader feels tetchy about my so-called controversial articles then I advise you to smile because sagacity and salvation is upon you.
