Rollers face tricky Nico

Nico coach, Willard Mashinkila-Khumalo told Mmegi Sport that morale is high in camp and all the players are ready to face Rollers, who completed a league and cup double last season. He said they will take the high profile encounter against Rollers like any other match. “From the beginning of the season, the morale has been high in the camp and these time it is no different. We have played well in our first two games and we are keen to keep the momentum,” Mashinkila-Khumalo said.

He is confident that he has the right players who can upset Rollers tomorrow. Nico will likely field former Extension Gunners and BMC defender, Thulani Moyo, whose paperwork has been sorted. Mashinkila-Khumalo said Moyo will bring stability at the back where they have been shaky though the defender should fight for his position.

Former Gunners’ players, Ntungamili Tshoganetso and Bernard Semakwezi will be key in their new team’s quest for maximum points. “We want to take the game to the champions. Our supporters must be patient if things do not go according to plan but I promise them that we will do our best,” Mashinkila-Khumalo said.

Majombolo is well known for starting the season like a house on fire only to run out of steam midstream. It remains to be seen if the 10 players the club signed at the start of the season will bring any smile to supporters.

Township Rollers’ spokesperson, Kaizer Sekaba, said his side is charged for the match against Nico.

“Teams were giving us points last year and they must continue with the good work of donating points. We will be firing from all cylinders and the players are hungry for a win,” Sekaba said. He said Mapalastina are injury-free and all the players are raring to go. He called on their supporters in Selebi-Phikwe, and surrounding areas to attend the game in large numbers.  Rollers will bank on national team players, Sekhana Koko and Joel Mogorosi for victory. The team looks formidable in the middle with the return of Malawian, Lawrence Majawa who partners the equally adept Amos Godirwang.
