BOTESSA holds AGM

BOTESSA spokesperson, Melusi Rampart said the meeting will mainly discuss the amendment of the BOTESSA Strategic Plan.

The review is meant to align the document with the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) Strategic Plan.

Rampart said in addition to the revision of the Strategic Plan, BOTESSA affiliates have proposed that the constitution is amended as it is silent on critical issues.

An audited financial report will be presented to affiliates at the AGM.

BOTESSA will introduce new election guidelines at the meeting.

Unlike before, the new guidelines will allow candidates to avail themselves on time and be afforded the opportunity to campaign.

The meeting will review the Confederation of Universities and Colleges (CUCSA) games, which BOTESSA hosted in Gaborone in July. Rampart said though Botswana did not finish tops, the games were a success.

He said BOTESSA has been able to develop players who have joined established leagues.

Rampart appealed for sponsorship and said lack of finance hampers BOTESSA work.

He explained that after the AGM, BOTESSA will donate undisclosed items to the Light and Courage Orphanage Centre.
