TASC on course to retain league title

The defending champions have won all their 15 games and finish the campaign this weekend against second-placed BOASA on Saturday at Donga courts and Botswana Railways in Palapye.

TASC manager, Benson Ntereke stated that they have been invited to take part in bilateral games in Namibia and that is why their game against Botswana Railways has been brought forward from October 30 to this weekend. He said they are sustaining their impressive performance because they have kept the same players for a long time to ensure consistency.

'This is all about how the club management treats the players, the kits they use, how often we change or buy kits and training equipment for the team. These are factors that contribute to good performance and keeping players for a long time. Players need to be satisfied because in our country, we do not have enough money to pay our players in most sport codes. The best way is to take care of them and the courts they use for training and games should be in good condition,' said Ntereke. Players like Ogone Gabaratane, Kelebogile Mangole, Violet Moabi, Boitumelo Night, Florance Keeditse and Onalenna Mothokothedi have been with the club for at least 10 years.

Meanwhile, after playing TASC, BOASA who have lost only once in 14 outings will take on Phikwe Prisons before clashing with Morupule Wanderers in their last match of the league. BOASA are assured of second spot irrespective of what happens in the remaining matches because their closest challengers, Continental Aces cannot overtake them. They face a difficult task in the match against the high-scoring TASC who thrashed Morupule Wanderers 109-6 and Arsenal 67-5 in their last outing at John Mackenzie court in Francistown.
