LOC starts marketing Africa Junior Athletics Championships

LOC chairperson, Solly Reikeletseng said at the launch that Botswana is ready to host the event which runs from May 17 to 23, 2011.

 He reiterated that based on past experience, they want to host a tournament that will leave a legacy in the country. He appealed to Batswana to volunteer their services and be part of history.

On Monday, the LOC unveiled the championship's logo that depicts an African map with red, yellow, black, green and blue colours.

'The colours on the outline show diversity of the African continent,' explained the LOC communications coordinator, Tebatso Hule. Green, yellow, red and black colours are found on most African flags.
