Scar records with US man, Omar and HHP

South Africa heavyweight Motswako rapper, HHP was also featured in the track, which could take Scar to new heights.

This is the first time that the revered local rapper has worked with an international producer, let alone international rapper.

Mr HU is also a hip-hop producer, a DJ, guitarist, and was available for two days in Gaborone to share skills with local aspiring rappers.  Scar, one of Botswana's best rappers jumped at the opportunity.

Both HHP and Omar were in Botswana last Friday for a high profile show at the Bull & Bush where the likes of Casper, and Cape Town DJ, Hamma as well as local stars performed.

It was the US rapper's first ever appearance on the Botswana scene.  Omar is described as a conscious rapper, with emphasis on old school style, despite being in his early 30s.

Omar has also been in South Africa lately where he has been recording and sharing skills with, among others, Zonke, Proverb, Jamali, and HHP.

As a talented guitarist Omar has also played in a band called The El's with Asheru (emcee), Zo (keys), and Zack (drums).  He was also a founding member of the US rap band, Urban Ave 31 - playing alongside, Raheim De Vaughn, The Remainz, and Bilal Salaam.

He also produced the Urban Ave 31 mix tapes that garnered DMV soul singer Raheim De Vaughn much of his early buzz.  Prior to that, Omar held it down as key producer and emcee in the crew, The Remainz, alongside yU (now part of critically acclaimed trio Diamond District) and Omun.
