Nico 'gag' banned coach Khumalo

Nico spokesperson Tiro Kganela said the suspended coach can not give interviews to the media.

'The suspension does not mean the coach has been dismissed. This has nothing to do with the history of Nico,' he said.

Kganela said the performance of the team hinges on how the club is run. He said the suspension is in line with the management's vision to rebrand the team.

Khumalo was suspended almost two weeks ago and his assistant, Toba Mothuba has been in charge.  Majombolo are 10th on the log following a hugely disappointing display against TASC last weekend. The two teams drew 2-2 in a drab encounter.

When Mmegi Sport sought  Khumalo's comment, the management would not allow the coach to give an interview. But a dejected Khumalo said it was taking too long for the management to decide his fate.  'I want to tell my side of the story but the management is refusing to grant me permission to do so. They are saying that they are investigating me, but why are they not completing their investigations?

I do not know what I have done to deserve the suspension,' he said. Khumalo is not the first Zimbabwean coach to bite the dust at Nico, as his countryman, Paul Gundani was also banned and subsequently dismissed together with his assistant, Peter Muchina last season. Gundani and Muchina did not take the dismissal lying down as they dragged the team to the Labour Department.
